Assessments

Finally. Answers You Can Do Something With.

You have been wondering for a while. Maybe years. Why certain things have always been harder. Why your child is clearly capable but cannot keep up. Why the diagnosis you were given never quite fit, or why the treatment is not moving the needle.

You may have already gone through testing somewhere else. You went through the process. You sat through the testing. You waited weeks for the report. And when it arrived, it was pages of scores and clinical language that raised more questions than it answered. You filed it away because you did not know what else to do with it.

Or maybe this is your first time, and what you are really asking is: will this actually help?

At Centered Connections, every assessment begins with a real conversation, before a single test is chosen. You sit down with your testing psychologist and talk through what is going on, what you have tried, and what you actually need to understand. From that conversation, your psychologist builds your assessment around you. Not a checklist. Not a billing code. You.

The result is a report written to be used. One that gives your child’s school exactly what they need. One that gives everyone on your treatment team a real roadmap. One that finally puts language to something you have been trying to describe for a long time.

We are a private pay practice. That means we answer to you. Not to an insurance company. One flat rate covers everything. No surprises.

Group Therapy

There Is a Moment That Happens in Group Therapy That Does Not Happen Anywhere Else.

Someone says something — carefully, maybe nervously — and before the clinician responds, someone else in the group says: me too. Not as a courtesy. As a confession. As a relief.

That moment is why group therapy works. Not the techniques. Not the structure. The moment when the thing you have been carrying privately turns out to be something others understand completely. When you stop feeling like the only one.

Most people who have been in group therapy do not talk about the research. They talk about that moment. The one where something shifted.

Our group therapy sessions are virtual. Wherever you are in Washington State, there is a place for you. We provide affirming, respectful care for individuals of all backgrounds, identities, and experiences.

From the Founder

A Note From Paula

I started Centered Mind Counseling Services more than ten years ago because I believed mental health care could be more personal, more connected, and more useful to the people receiving it. Centered Connections grew from that same belief.

Too many people were going through the assessment process and coming out the other side without real answers. Too many families were advocating for their children without the documentation they needed. Too many adults were sitting across from their therapist or prescriber with a report that raised more questions than it answered.

We built Centered Connections to change that. For this community and for anyone across Washington State who needs answers they can actually do something with.

This work matters to me more than I can say. And I am glad you found us.
